"People who 'review' albums and don't make music themselves should be unemployed."
I've seen some moronic responses to negative reviews in my time, but this one - from Lizzo - is an absolute beauty.
Where to start? The dismissal of music criticism as a valuable pursuit? The arrogant assumption that musicians are inherently the best judges of quality? The policing of whose opinion counts as valid? The belief that us reviewers are generally professionally employed to do what we do?
Hopefully for her sake it was just an ill-considered knee-jerk reaction - but it certainly doesn't look good.
