Like (I imagine) the vast majority of '77 punks, Jon Savage holds the Jubilee in no great esteem.
Abingdon, meanwhile, seems to be gearing up for Jubilee fever. Union jacks have just been put up on lamp-posts in the town centre, while local all-under-one-roof shop Masons had sold out of pinking shears at the weekend - presumably as a result of the whole town busily making their own red, white and blue bunting. Thank fuck we're going to be in the Peak District when the street parties (and bun throwing) are in full swing...
