To use a glut of cliches, you have to respect artists who keep on plugging away and ploughing their own furrow long after the media circus has left town. The days when Therapy? commanded significant column inches may be long gone, but new album Hard Cold Fire deserves better than to be ignored by all but hardcore fans. Buzz review here.
Meanwhile, it'll be interesting to hear the fruits of frontman Andy Cairns' new industrial/noise rock supergroup JAAW, also involving members of Sex Swing, Big Lad and Three Trapped Tigers. The album Supercluster is out later in the month, with taster 'Rot' having already been released. Might it be fair to say that once Hard Cold Fire was in the can (all clean lines and typically big choruses), Cairns had a hankering to make something grimier and more extreme?
