In most instances, a drummer releasing a solo drum album would be an unforgivable indulgence best avoided at all costs - but then Dave Lombardo isn't your average sticksman. Rites Of Percussion - released on Mike Patton's Ipecac label - may be a rather niche pursuit, but it's about time he was front and centre.
