"A gut-punch, poignant as hell"
Having neglected to mark the 25th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death earlier this month, I'll do so now, belatedly, by linking to this Louder Than War piece. Its author Tim Stegall argues that two candid photos taken by Bruce Pavitt, the co-founder of Nirvana's first record label Sub Pop, speak volumes - the first about Cobain's combination of anxiety and confidence, and the second about the devastating effect that the enormous success of Nevermind and the consequent pressure had on him.
