I've always thought of Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite as a man of good musical taste, so it's reassuring to see that, when asked by Noisey to rank his band's eight studio albums, he puts them in pretty much the same order I would.
I wasn't aware of anyone who shared my opinion that 2003's Happy Music For Happy People is their best, so it's particularly gratifying to see we're in agreement on that front. While I'd place last year's Rave Tapes last (switched with the rather underwhelming The Hawk Is Howling), it's interesting to note that - unusually for an artist - Braithwaite isn't smitten with his most recent creation, and already has a sense of perspective and a lingering feeling that it's not "fully formed".
