"I do not like Hitler. I do not like him, Sam-I-Am"

As well as writing children's books, it turns out that Dr Seuss was also a political cartoonist who, had he been president, would clearly have got the US involved in the Second World War sooner.

He also supported the US internment camps for Japanese immigrants, so you know, not all good.

Fair comment, in the interests of balance. He later renounced those views, which were curiously at odds with his criticism of the racial prejudices directed at black people and Jews within the USA that hampered the war effort.
