Inner visions

When I was at school, there was a (possibly apocryphal) tale of a pupil being punished for some misdeed or other by having to compose an essay with the title "A Day In The Life Of The Inside Of A Ping-Pong Ball", the implication being that there could be no less interesting subject matter to have to write about. Top marks to photographer James Friedman for demonstrating that the insides of golf balls are far more fascinating. Each one looks like an alien planet.
