War: what is it good for? Absolutely nothing, according to the song - but not according to Capita chief executive Paul Pindar. Called to appear before the Public Accounts Committee to explain his company's failure to meet Army recruitment targets, Pindar explained: "We have the disadvantage that we actually have no wars on. Soldiers like to join the Army when they actually have something to do." A very good point - we'd best get stirring up trouble with Iran or North Korea, or instigating a second Falklands War.
