Say what?
A friend used to be under the impression that the chorus to Bananarama's 'Robert De Niro's Waiting' was "Robert De Niro's waiting / Talking to Tanya", while Jen was convinced that Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Cornershop's Tjinder Singh were actually singing "I'm a creep / I'm a window" and "Everybody needs a buzzard for a pillow" respectively. Turns out there's a term for this phenomenon of mishearing/misinterpreting lyrics: mondegreen. Thanks to Buzzfeed (and Holly, who spotted the post) for enlightening me - and for presenting 24 other terms for Things You Never Knew Had Names.
