Well ain't that novel

You know how it is: good things eventually come to those who toil away for scant reward. So it was with great pleasure that I heard that my previous "employers" are celebrating their first ever Man Booker nomination.

The novel in question, Patrick McGuinness' The Last Hundred Days, is up against books by literary heavyweights Alan Hollinghurst and Julian Barnes so its chances of winning are probably slim - but it's fantastic for it just to be in that company, and for Seren to be mixing it with the publishing big boys. Perfect timing, too, with Seren celebrating their 30th birthday with a big Open Day on Saturday 1st October.
