Happy happy joy joy

It may be a Monday, but there are at least two reasons to be cheerful:

1. I've now got the internet at home again. Hooray! It seems to be even more sluggish than my steam-powered laptop - boo! - but it is working. Touch wood.

2. More importantly, as of today I'm an uncle. Hooray! A warm welcome to the world to Alice, and congratulations to Tom and Sarah. Looking forward to meeting the newest member of the family in a couple of weeks - in the meantime I'm hoping to find the requisite Newcastle Utd babygro (got to get 'em young, after all) and find out whether my new status really does result in an improvement in my rice-cooking abilities...

Congratulations to your family, Ben!

And how do you feel about the impending sale of Newcastle, by the by?

Indoctrinating innocent children who know no better into Toondom feels like the kind of thing Richard Dawkins would protest about.

Congratulations to Tom and Sarah.

Cheers guys.

Interesting parallel there, Del. Being a Christian is a matter of irrational faith despite evidence of the ever-present existence of evil, whereas supporting Newcastle is, well...

Since when does being a Christian represent irrational faith despite the ever present existence of evil? Are you suggesting that the Christian faith is somehow disproved because evil exists?
