Tall tales
So, Cardiff Bay is soon to have its very own skyscraper, the Bay Pointe development. The city may be lacking in what councillors across the UK are increasingly inclined to call "iconic" buildings, but whether it really needs another huge half-empty block of flats down at the Bay is at very least questionable. The scheme's been criticised as "unsustainable" and a potential "enormous white elephant" by one local AM, Plaid's Chris Franks - so its location at the International Sports Village is highly appropriate, at least...
