The creation of a ballpoint pen specifically for women prompted a deluge of bemused and sarcastic responses on Amazon, and ultimately a whole comedy show by Bridget Christie. Initially, the idea of a female-friendly guitar sounds just as ridiculous, but its designer is St Vincent aka Annie Clark, who has explained how her creation for Ernie Ball is "sympathetic to the female form": lightweight and designed to show off the waist while taking account of the existence of breasts. Perhaps most importantly, it comes in two colours: black and blue - but not pink.
