Taking the (George) Michael

If there's one thing worse than a Tory politician who's hopelessly out of touch with the public, it's a Tory politician who's hopelessly out of touch with the public attempting to get in touch with the public. It's telling that Michael Gove thinks he can get down with the kids by telling them he likes rap music and then performing the 'Wham Rap' to prove it - someone really should tell him and the rest of his party that it's not the 1980s anymore.

What's more, Gove cheerfully grinning his way through such lyrics as "I may not have a job but I have a good time with the boys I meet down on the line" shows a phenomenal and comically offensive lack of self-awareness. The whole scenario couldn't have been scripted better even by Armando Iannucci.
