Former HMV marketer Philip Beeching on the reasons for the company's demise. While his article reads a bit like an extended smug I-told-you-so, it nevertheless contains fascinating revelations about the complacency and inertia within the company.
Also worth a look is this assessment by Guardian music journalist Alexis Petridis, who is spot on when he talks about the firm's ill-judged move away from music. Couldn't agree more.
