"Bork was a nominee to the United States Supreme Court. Because of Bork's
distinctive beard, his photograph has been used in reaction studies with
dogs, rats, and planaria (flatworms) and in bombardment studies with pigeons."
A superb footnote to this article about how cats are pogonophobic, which raises more questions than it answers. I find it hard to imagine a flatworm either being attracted by or recoiling in horror from a beard, and I'm also intrigued as to what "bombardment studies with pigeons" might involve.
