18. 'Aneurysm' - Nirvana
19. 'I Wanna Be Your Dog' - The Stooges
20. 'From The Nursery' - Wire

Notes:

1. The Beatles gone garage rock, from a righteous racket of an album. Pure dumb fun - the best kind.

2. Simply splendid. Release The Stars makes me want to wear a smoking jacket and cravat and gorge myself on red wine.

3. The (current) best track from Oshin. The ball's in your court, Deerhunter - good luck with the return.

4., 5. and 12. Highlights from the 1-2-3-4, which proved both better organised and generally just better than the 2010 event. Deap Vally look like a couple of high school cheerleaders and sound like the White Stripes tackling Led Zeppelin.

6. Ah, space-jam bliss.

7., 9., 10. and 14. Choicest cuts from DJ Dangeruss' epic four-plus-hour headline set at the 90s-themed Evstival.

8. This has been on repeat since watching Only Yesterday on Sunday.

11. Thanks to Al for introducing me to this lot, who'll be at the Shellac ATP. Beer-lovers playing heavier-than-QOTSA stoner rock with daft accompanying videos? Oh, go on then...

13., 16. and 19. Post-1-2-3-4 entertainment courtesy of the old-school indie DJs at the Islington Academy.

15. This might be a Gun Club cover, but first impressions of Celebration Rock suggests that it's more of the same from the Vancouver duo. Not that that's a bad thing at all, mind.

17. Low's Alan Sparhawk takes on the cheesy Beach Boys song (not the song of the same name by Black Dice...) with his side project.

18. Never heard a trio of Nirvana covers played on acoustic guitar and concertina before, as I did on Saturday (this, 'Very Ape' and 'Radio Friendly Unit Shifter' in case you're interested)? You've never lived...

20. Yes, I've finally managed to resist the temptation to put Pink Flag on again and given Chairs Missing a spin. Finding it somewhat harder going, but maybe that'll change - and in the meantime 'From The Nursery' is acting as a kind of bridge between the two.
