Our beloved leader, proving that, while he can mingle with the Great Unwashed at Alex James Presents Harvest, he's as out of touch with reality as you'd expect of a Tory. Sod the cuts, the riots and the NHS - his eagerness to see the Kooks is sufficient evidence of everything that's wrong with the country.

In other local festival news, hot on the heels of Truck's demise came the last-minute cancellation of the Oxford Summer Fayre due to "bad weather and unpaid bills". Quite apart from the fact that it was due to take place in September - hardly the height of summer - the bash seems to have been badly organised. (Those behind it, Gecko Events, had already put on similar festivals in the delightful environs of Milton Keynes and Bedford.) And of course the weekend then turned out to be perfectly clement...
