Battle of the sexes

That Richard Littlejohn really is a charmer, isn't he? Apparently anyone with the temerity to claim that the retort "Calm down, dear" might be offensive to women in its smugly patronising and paternalistic overtones is either one of "those po-faced Leftie birds who go ballistic if you call them 'luv' or the pinny-whipped menfolk who leap to their defence".

Thankfully, though, Littlejohn is on hand to issue sage advice on how to cope with "self-righteous munters" like Labour's Shadow Economic Secretary Angela Eagle: "Patronising these women is the only way to deal with them. Blowing them a kiss is another guaranteed bull's-eye."

His fellow (and almost equally odious) Daily Heil columnist Jan Moir disagreed. Let's hope they settle their differences in bloody and mutually fatal combat.
