Oh I do like to be beside the seaside

Apologies for the lack of activity round these 'ere parts over the last week or so, but I've been all over the place - quite literally, for a change.

First there was two consecutive nights of earbleeding gigging action at the Cellar in Oxford - reports to follow.

Then at the weekend there was my better half's 30th birthday celebrations, marked by the convergence of 30 funseekers upon a converted former lifeboat house in a bay on the Gower booked out for the occasion. Sunshine, clifftop walks, stone-throwing, games of beach football and poker, copious quantities of alcohol and meat chargrilled alfresco, great company and even a 25-minute-long swim in the sea - yep, couldn't have been much better.

And no sooner had I returned inland than I was back on the coast, this time down in Cornwall with work. (Woohoo! A trip out of the office! Meals on expenses! Stuff paid for!) Again the weather was good, the hotel great and the Italian restaurant last night overlooking the harbour (Pucelli's) superb. Yes, Mr Stein, we were delighted your Cafe turned out to be fully booked.

To be honest, circumstances are likely to mean that new posts will be appearing only sporadically on here for the next two months - but don't go assuming SWSL is on hiatus and delete it from your bookmarks just yet...
