Art for all

A whistlestop visit to the Baltic yesterday didn't permit me the opportunity to take in the current exhibitions by Milly Thompson or Saodat Ismailova, but I was mightily impressed and heartened by Foundation Press' Starting Lines.

Bold, clear, colourful and engaging, the exhibition - which sets out some key creative pointers and offering illustrative examples of the Press' work with communities and schoolchildren - is an inspirational stimulus, promoting the value of collaboration and encouraging hands-on give-it-a-go art. When even someone as uncreative as myself is left feeling sufficiently motivated to contribute, you know it's done its job.
