When bands part company with members, the reason given is often mundane: a change of direction, extracurricular commitments, "musical differences". As this BBC article recounts, however, the story behind Dave Glover's exit from Slade is rather more unusual: he was unceremoniously booted out for planning to marry convicted serial killer Rosemary West.
Also featured in the piece are Courtney Love, Jimi Hendrix and Glen Matlock. According to Malcolm McLaren (whose word should probably be taken with a hefty pinch of salt), Matlock was sacked from The Sex Pistols for his love of Paul McCartney - only a crime if he claimed to prefer Wings to The Beatles, surely?
