Of all the steaming horseshit ever to come out of Steve Bannon's mouth, the suggestion that Martin Luther King would be "proud" of Donald Trump for what he's done for black people takes the biscuit. You can hear the incredulity in Emily Maitlis' voice as she repeats what she's just been told. Bannon opts against backtracking, instead blathering on in support of his preposterous statement. And to think these are the people who can't stop cautioning us against the dangers of fake news.
Not that America has got the monopoly on sycophantic morons queuing up to laud the president in the most ridiculous terms. After all, it was our very own village idiot Boris Johnson who claimed that Trump might be a worthy recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize.
