Red Hot Chili Peppers working on their new album with Nigel Godrich? It's not quite as surprising as it might at first seem, given that the Radiohead producer and the Chilis' Flea are both members of Atoms For Peace - though that in itself remains a freakish collaboration.
First Danger Mouse, and now Godrich - are Kiedis and company intent on pulling out all the stops in a bid to actually produce something that might vaguely be of interest? Call me cynical, but I suspect the resulting LP will be one to file alongside Brian Eno's collaborations with U2 and Coldplay...
