While it's pleasing to learn that Mumsnetters have voted Northumberland as the best UK family holiday destination (above the likes of Cornwall), it's a bit of a double-edged sword - accolades like that, plus the accompanying press reports, openly advertise the county's charms, when many of us would rather they remained a relative secret.
