The results might not be as spectacular as the images in this gallery, but Google's introduction of what the Guardian have labelled a "time machine" feature in Street View will nevertheless no doubt give rise to some fascinating juxtapositions of past and present while illustrating the ever-changing nature of the urban landscape.
