It's not exactly unusual for the Daily Heil to exhibit breathtaking hypocrisy, but it still deserves comment in the case of the Harriet Harman affair. How they can possibly have the nerve to lambast her for her involvement in the National Council for Civil Liberties (now simply Liberty) at a time when the Paedophile Information Exchange was granted affiliate status is beyond me, given some of the calculatedly tittilating non-stories about underage girls they routinely serve up. Owen Jones has helpfully provided just a sample of their work, in the course of setting up a petition calling on the paper to stop sexualising children.
Meanwhile, the Guardian's Steve Bell had a suitably blunt response to the Heil's anti-Harman campaign.
