For fans of Bookshelf Porn: a gallery of photos of some of the world's most spectacular libraries. It's not as visually impressive as any of those featured, but I always got a frisson of excitement going to the British Library. Having to take things into the Reading Room in a clear plastic bag that was checked by security staff made it feel like an airport - appropriate, as in a metaphorical sense you're going on a journey of discovery.
