Rights and wrongs

There is power in a union, as Billy Bragg once sang. And, by extension, there is powerlessness in fragmentation. So here's hoping that Amnesty International can heal their apparent internal divisions and focus on the serious long-term issues at hand (rather than squabbling over strategy or scrabbling to rally round the latest fashionable cause). It's disspiriting to see the good guys floundering, especially given the achievements of the organisation's first 50 years of existence - but those of us who support them financially might start to think twice if there's doubt over how effectively they use the resources.
