Feel good hits of the 15th November

1. 'Sore Tummy' - PAWS
2. 'Turn It Around' - The Men
3. 'Another The Letter' - Wire
4. 'Hate To Say I Told You So' - The Hives
5. 'You're The Doctor' - Ty Segall
6. 'Sun In Your Eyes' - Grizzly Bear
7. 'Watch The Corners' - Dinosaur Jr
8. 'Wild'- Beach House
9. 'Float On' - Modest Mouse
10. 'Acid Takion' - Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso UFO

Notes:

1. Cokefloat is more nu-grunge than I'd anticipated, but solid enough all the same.

2. Punk rock of the old school played with giddy abandon, and possessor of a mighty drum solo. Up yours Japandroids!

3. The more I hear of Wire's first two albums, the more I'm convinced of where Fugazi got all their best ideas from. That said, 'Another The Letter' is something a bit different, a very early experiment with a sequencer.

4. Oh to be back on the sticky indie dancefloors of youth...

5. Twins is Segall's fourth album of the year - clearly a man on a personal mission to make Kevin Shields look even lazier than he already is - and, on first listen, the follow-up to the excellent Slaughterhouse is another good 'un.

6. With this and 'Half-Gate', Shields certainly couldn't be accused of petering out.

9. Thanks to Monday's pub quiz for introducing me to a fine song that I really ought to have already known.

10. Your brain WILL dribble out of your ears. Whether you choose to view that as a good thing or not is up to you.
