Happy 75th birthday to the Speaking Clock. In case you're wondering, it does still perform a valuable service. Informed that she would break the terms of her mobile phone contract if she didn't use it at least once every three months, my gran now makes occasional calls to the Speaking Clock, regular as clockwork...
