Ole ole ole

After a weekend in London...

Thumbs up for Wahaca in Soho: delicious, cheap, colourful Mexican food served with a smile. Just what was needed after a long walk into town from Highgate via Hampstead Heath, Primrose Hill and Regents Park. It was all fantastic - the refried beans with chorizo, the pork pibil - but my favourite was the chicken guajillo. I'm now determined to make more use of founder Thomasina Miers' cookbook Mexican Food Made Simple and also to watch her new Channel 5 series of the same name.

Thumbs down for the pubs en route that claimed to be hosting a "cider festival" when the ciders on offer were Rekorderlig, Bulmers and sodding Strongbow. Sweet fizzy shite. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
