Know Your Enemy

"The sun is now setting on the Murdoch empire."

Liberal Democrat MP Simon Hughes reacts with not a little Schadenfreude to the news that News Corporation have abandoned plans to launch a takeover of BSkyB in the wake of the phone hacking scandal.

Meanwhile: the News of the World's appropriation of George Orwell as one of its greatest champions in Sunday's last ever edition has been criticised in an article on the BBC site; and the Guardian reported on the embittered Screws employee (or employees) who used the crossword to exact revenge on Rebekah Brooks; and we had the pleasure of watching Sky News' obnoxious Kay Burley squirming and flustered by MP Chris Bryant's simple request for an on-air apology.

(Thanks to Neil for the Burley link.)
