Quote of the day

"MySpace boss Mike Jones has been putting a brave face on the falling numbers. He said the site is no longer a social network and is instead an 'entertainment destination'."

You can call it what you like, Mike, but having lost 10 million of its 73 million users between January and February, there's no denying MySpace is dying on its arse. Even bands, its lifeblood as an "entertainment destination", are abandoning it in their droves. Those redesigns and updates don't appear to have halted the downward spiral, and personally I'm far more likely to go to YouTube to hear a sample of a band's music rather than try to negotiate that clunky interface.

The death knell is also sounding for physical singles, with Mercury announcing that they'll only be releasing them in exceptional circumstances. Does that mean CDs and LPs are living on borrowed time too? I for one sincerely hope not.
