Tom Waits on Don Van Vliet aka Captain Beefheart, who's died aged 69.

As someone who counts at least two Beefheart connoisseurs amongst his friends and who was impressed by the Magic Band at last Decembers 10 Years Of ATP (even if the festival's fashionistas weren't), I really should reattempt to immerse myself in Van Vliet's work. As ever, a sorry state of affairs when it takes someone's death to truly appreciate them.
