Quote of the day

"This speech has been the talk of the bars in the House of Lords and the general view is that it is bonkers. If anything he said is true, it should be looked into, but we all think he's in a parallel universe."

An anonymous Labour peer on Lord James of Blackheath, who has claimed that he has "handled billions of pounds of terrorist money" and that a shadowy organisation called "Foundation X" has proposed a no-strings-attached cash injection of £75bn to help the recovery of the global economy. Might I respectfully suggest laying off the John Grisham and Dan Brown novels for a bit, Lord James? Clearly you don't have to be mad to work in the House of Lords, but it helps...

(Thanks to Simon for the pointer.)
