Civic pride

Nice to see that the mayor of Portland, Sam Adams, has commemorated his city's musical heritage by getting a painting of Modest Mouse's Isaac Brock hung in his office. As Pitchfork reporter Tom Breihan comments, "To put it in perspective, Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley almost certainly does not have Steve Albini's mug hanging in his chambers."

In other you-may-have-missed music news, 'Weird Al' Yankovic is, incredibly, among the latest additions to the bill for Godspeed! You Black Emperor's ATP in December. As someone who's sold over 12 million albums, he'll be easily among the biggest acts ever to have played the festival...

Incidentally, for any lucky sods in the vicinity of New York, the US 10 Years Of ATP is shaping up quite nicely, too.
