Feel good hits of the 7th February
1. 'Orgasm Addict' - The Buzzcocks
2. 'At The Burnside' - The Twilight Sad
3. 'Nothing To Hide' - Yo La Tengo
4. 'Cameras' - Women
5. 'Free City Rhymes' - Sonic Youth
6. 'Albatross' - The Besnard Lakes
7. 'Crazy Naked Girls' - Super Furry Animals
8. 'The Lisbon Maru' - Fuck Buttons
9. 'Parting Song For The Torn Sky' - Crystal Antlers
10. 'See The Leaves' - The Flaming Lips
The good news: The Besnard Lakes, whose The Besnard Lakes Are The Dark Horse was (with a bit of hindsight and revisionism) SWSL Album Of The Year for 2007, not only have a new album imminent (The Besnard Lakes Are The Roaring Night - 'Albatross' is the first single) but are also embarking on a UK tour in late March / early April.
The bad news: the tour is in support to Tunng...
Three questions:
1. Why the hell did it take The Buzzcocks' ATP appearance to prompt me to buy Singles Going Steady?! It's unquestionably brilliant.
2. Why did the Women album only receive a fraction of the press of the likes of Veckatimest and Merriweather Post Pavilion?
3. Re 'Crazy Naked Girls' - when exactly did the Super Furries turn into Comets On Fire?
