Live and kicking
After the closure of the Point back in February due to nimby twattishness, my old stomping ground Cardiff has something to celebrate on the venues front - as of 5th November, the fully refurbished Coal Exchange will be reopening its doors.
I only actually saw one gig there during my time in the Welsh capital - when Mogwai showed scant appreciation for the building's history in attempting to raze it to its foundations back in 2006 - but, like the Point, it's an impressive and unique venue, and it's heartening to know that the brakes will be put on the Bay's transformation into a bland cultural wasteland of empty newbuild flats and identikit bars.
