Newsnight condensed

A friend's considered opinion on the insights the continuing MPs' expenses scandal affords us into each party:

"A Labour MP claimed for a bathplug and some porn on expenses, and some Tory has claimed for the cost of cleaning his moat. Which suggests the Tories live in castles and Labour like wanking in the bath."

When put in those terms, it's hard to imagine these are the people who run (or have ambitions of running) the country, isn't it?
