Out of the loop
In the loop? Er, not me - shamefully, I hadn't even heard of In The Loop until this weekend. Steve Coogan reunited with an Armando Iannucci script? James Gandolfini and Peter Capaldi’s Malcolm Tucker trying their best to outshout and outswear each other? Let's just say it makes for a very appealing prospect indeed and might be the film that finally tempts me back to the flicks for the first time since Control well over a year ago.
Anyway, here's a Guardian interview with Iannucci himself. Some wise words, as ever: "I just think all these little press releases saying 'We apologise if offence was caused, there was certainly no intention to offend' - well, of course there was intent to offend! If you're a comic you're bound to offend someone at some point. Comedy is all about exaggeration and distortion, you can't have comedy that is fair and balanced and accurate".

I'd certainly recommend you go. Saw it on Friday and laughed a lot. Which is a good sign for a comedy I'd suggest.
Coming from someone who certainly knows his comedy onions, praise indeed! Consider me even more swayed than before. Now to find a free evening...
