Know Your Enemy
"Her death is as sad as the death of any young person but it's not the passing of a martyr or a saint or, God help us, Princess Di.
When we clear the media smokescreen from around her death, what we're left with is a woman who came to represent all that's paltry and wretched about Britain today.
She was brought up on a sink estate, as a child came to know both drugs and crime, was barely educated, ignorant and puerile.
Then she was projected to celebrity by 'Big Brother' and, from that point on, became a media chattel to be manipulated and exploited till the day she died".
Something's clearly riled the normally mild-mannered Parky, if his extraordinarily splenetic anti-Jade Goody rant is anything to go by...
Incidentally, I heard her referred to as "a candle in the wind - a racist, blowjob-under-the-duvet-giving candle in the wind" the other day. A review of that Richard Herring show, 'The Headmaster's Son', to come.

Parkinson comes up with a similar moan about once every two years - standards going down/ nobody's as good as me/ blah blah blah. I keep meaning to dig out the old quotes...
I hope I'm not alone in thinking the giving of blowjobs under the duvet was pretty much the least offensive thing about Jade Goody?
853blog: Point taken, but it was the sharpness of the comments that struck me this time around.
Kenny: No, I doubt you are...
