Quote of the day

"First, we established there was demand for execution vehicles. Then we designed the vehicles and applied to the government for certification. This procedure is a must."

A Mr Zhang of Chinese firm Jinguan Autos, who appear to have identified a new market and stolen a march on potential competitors. Mobile shops, yes. Mobile libraries, yes. But mobile death chambers?

There certainly is demand. According to Amnesty International, of the 2,390 executions recorded globally last year, 72% took place in China. No wonder, then, that Jinguan Autos claim sales are "steady".
