Feline good (on the whole)

The recipient of my compilation for the 2008 Shuffleathon was the author of The Cat Girl Speaks - and now she has.

It's gratifying to read her purring about many of the songs I chose, Blood Red Shoes' 'This Is Not For You' in particular, for what became a prototype of the annual SWSL Best Of CD. Mogwai's 'Batcat' and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' 'Night Of The Lotus Eaters' were among those tracks received less warmly. No accounting for differences of taste, of course, but I'm not surprised the claws came out for Fuck Buttons' 'Sweet Love For Planet Earth' - I'd suspected it might make for a challenging opening ten minutes...
