Ladies' night - but not for me

If ever there was something to teach me to check my Hotmail account more regularly, then this was it...

Idly skimming through emails this evening, I came across one from Plan B announcing a gig headlined by Canadian outfit Women, a band whose self-titled record I've just bought and am gradually coming to terms with, and with support from Action Beat, a populous local no wave combo who feature anything up to four drummers and whom I've been meaning to catch for ages.

The gig was in Reading, not much more than three quarters of an hour away by train.

And it was free.

And it was tonight.

Bollocks.
