Political animals
Heard the one about the bouffant-haired pomp-rock band who issued a cease-and-desist request to a Republican presidential candidate to stop using one of their songs at his campaign rallies?
John McCain and Sarah Palin don't seem prepared to comply, and indeed it may be that the Wilson sisters are unable to force them to, with the Republican Party having legitimately gained a licence for the use of 'Barracuda'. Rather than complaining, the Wilsons' former bandmate Roger Fisher has been more pragmatic, saying that a share of the royalties will go straight into the coffers of Obama's campaign.
Quite why the Republican Party would actually choose to represent themselves with a song named after a sly, slippery and often dangerous scavenger is beyond me.
