That was the year that was

OK, so I'm STILL waiting to get my mitts on In Rainbows and The Besnard Lakes Are The Dark Horse (I'm visiting the latter's MySpace site every day for a quick fix...), so how's about I point you in the direction of the lists compiled by the authors of SWSL-endorsed blogs in the meantime?

Sweeping The Nation: Albums Of 2007 / Singles Of 2007 / Albums Of 2007 - UK Bloggers Poll (to which I was too late to contribute) / Round-up of the year (if you want to find out what happened in the world of music in 2007, this is a brilliant synopsis)

Parallax View: Albums Of The Year 2007 / Gigs Of The Year 2007 / Films Of The Year 2007

Troubled Diva: Albums Of 2007 / Singles Of 2007 / Tracks Of 2007 / Gigs Of 2007

Swiss Toni's Place: Earworms Of The Year 2007 (to which I was too late to contribute - sorry ST!)

Delrico Bandito: Albums Of The Year, Live Performances Of The Year, Films Of The Year (all in the same post) / Singles Of The Year

The Auditorium: Swiss Toni and Lord Bargain's Top 20 Albums Of 2007

Don't Go To Vegas: Singles Of The Year

Neil Grayson: Singles Of The Year

Betty's Utility Room: Best Of The Music I Liked That Nobody Else Liked This Year

And if that wasn't enough, Simon Sweeping The Nation's not just looking back but also forward - by previewing some of the albums due for release this year and putting together a compilation of tracks from some of the bands and artists most likely to in 2008. The first track is by Gindrinker, and fellow Cardiffians The Spencer McGarry Season and The Wave Pictures plus Fanfarlo and Dananananaykroyd also feature - you really can't go wrong...
