Know Your Enemy

"Do you think you can just come in here and start saying all these things? Saying we're old and we're having a midlife crisis? Just coming in and asking all these rude questions?"

A copiously bearded Warren Ellis takes rather less than kindly to the line of questioning taken by Plan B's Miss AMP during an interview with Grinderman. At which point frontman Nick Cave steps in to defend her: "These are the best questions we've had all day. This is the most interesting interview". The Dirty Three man's response? "Bust out the champagne..."

Also of note in the latest issue of the only music magazine worth reading: a large feature on Andy's favourites Misty's Big Adventure; a hugely entertaining interview with Bobby Conn (sample quote: "There's a lot of climax on this record. And a lot of dried jism"); enthusiastic reviews of LCD Soundsystem's Sound Of Silver and The Stooges' long, long, long awaited return The Weirdness; live reviews of The Arcade Fire and Blood Red Shoes; glowing recommendations for Manatees, Los Campesinos! and Gindrinker; and a round-up of new releases by Lesson No.1's Noel Gardner which alerted me to the existence of a new Icarus Line EP 'Black Presents', and a forthcoming album, Black Lives At The Golden Coast.
