Snaps, crackle and (Brit)pop

If you were reading an article in a copy of NME in the 1990s, there's a good chance the accompanying images were taken by staff photographer Martyn Goodacre. To mark the publication of his new book Working For The NME, the Quietus invited him to talk through a number of his photographs.

Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher feature, inevitably, but so too do Kevin Shields, George Clinton and Beth Gibbons (the latter showing off her keepie-uppie skills). The piece is most worth reading for the anecdotes about the fate of Jarvis Cocker's beloved Hillman Imp and the time the KLF were invited to go all Supermarket Sweep in HMV on Oxford Street and chose to take nothing but "blank tapes ... and some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles T-shirts"...
